- A payer in a healthcare AI story changes what the software is for. Better documentation and more complete risk scores are worth real money to a Medicare Advantage plan, which is not true in the same way for a hospital, so read any Humana linked claim for who gets paid when the software is right. Its own newsroom is mostly plan ratings, dividends and community reports rather than AI, so the AI connection usually arrives through a vendor announcement or through the CenterWell care business. The useful question is whether Humana pays differently because of what an AI produced, not whether it says nice things about AI.
The SEC filer record for Humana Inc., read on 2026-10-31, gives the ticker HUM on the New York Stock Exchange, classifies the company under hospital and medical service plans, and places it in Kentucky. Its own newsroom shows the board declaring a quarterly dividend on 29 October 2026 and, on 13 October 2026, a joint venture with BlackRock to manage and operate CenterWell Senior Primary Care clinics. The about page says Humana has worked on helping people live healthy and happy since 1961. No change of control was announced. Checked on 2026-10-31.

Navina adds the former Humana chief executive to its advisory board
Navina said on 30 April 2026 that Bruce Broussard, the former chief executive of Humana, had joined its advisory board. The announcement says his experience in Medicare Advantage and in integrated, outcome focused care models will help as Navina grows across providers and health plans. It describes Navina as an AI clinical intelligence platform that pulls clinical context from several long running sources to build what it calls a patient digital twin, and says it has shown results for value based care organisations in quality of care, financial performance and administrative load. Ronen Lavi, the Navina chief executive and co-founder, is quoted, as is Broussard. The announcement gives no figures and no terms, and says he served as Humana chief executive for more than a decade.
Why it matters: An advisory board seat is not a contract, and nobody should read it as one. What it does signal is direction. Navina started by helping doctors see a fuller picture of a patient, and hiring the person who ran one of the biggest Medicare Advantage plans points at selling to the plans themselves. That matters to a provider group, because software paid for by a plan tends to be measured on risk scores and quality ratings rather than on a clinician's day. Patient digital twin is also marketing language rather than a defined thing, and a provider should ask what it actually contains before accepting the phrase. Watch for a named health plan contract. That would turn this appointment into evidence.
Careers and Qualifications
What to Know Before Applying
Work areas: The careers site groups openings into clinical roles, technology roles and corporate roles, and leans on the company line about personalised care from people who care. It names no team sizes or office counts on the landing page, so the job search is where the real picture is.
Qualification signal: The valuable experience at a plan this size is understanding how money moves: risk adjustment, star ratings and the rules that decide what gets paid. A data scientist who knows how a risk score becomes revenue is worth more here than one with a better model and no idea what it is for. For technology roles, ask whether the work touches a live coverage or payment process, because that is a very different job from analytics.
Check current roles at Humana. A careers page is the source of record for openings. This profile does not claim a role is open unless the company lists it now.

- What is the appeal route when software contributes to a decision about a person?
- Which rules govern the use of the plan member data involved?
Data and contract questions
- Which member data reach the vendor, and how long are they kept?

FDA Clearances on Record
No clearance is linked in this directory. That is not automatically a mark against the company. Some products support the people doing the work instead of reading a patient image or signal themselves.
