How Flatiron Health Connects to the Public Market

Company structure
Independent affiliate of the Roche Group
Market access
Public parent: Roche Holding Ltd, SIX Swiss Exchange: RO and ROP.
Stock name
Roche Holding Ltd
Ticker and exchange
SIX Swiss Exchange: ROP
Research focus
The thing to understand about Flatiron Health is that it sits on both sides of a table. It sells the records system a community cancer clinic uses every day, and it sells research data drawn from records like it. That is useful and it is also a conflict worth naming out loud. Ask which product a deal actually covers, because an AI partner plugged into OncoEMR is selling to the clinic, while a drug company buying Telescope data is buying the research side. Its own figures, more than six million patients and more than 800 community cancer locations in its network, come from its own announcements rather than an outside count.

The Flatiron Health about page and the boilerplate on its own press releases both say Flatiron Health is an independent affiliate of the Roche Group, and date that relationship to 2018. The company says it was founded in 2012. The Roche investor pages give the legal issuer as Roche Holding Ltd and name two lines on the SIX Swiss Exchange, bearer shares under RO and participation certificates under ROP, plus an American depositary receipt under RHHBY on OTCQX International Premier. Because the depositary receipt is not on the New York Stock Exchange or Nasdaq, no live quote symbol is recorded here. Checked on 2026-10-31.

Candid Health will sell its claims automation through Flatiron Health's oncology records system

Candid Health said on 27 August 2026 that it is partnering with Flatiron Health to bring revenue cycle automation to oncology practices in Flatiron's network, with Flatiron integrating the platform into its OncoEMR records system. Candid Health says OncoEMR is used by more than 5,100 providers and more than 220 community oncology practices across the United States, and that it already does this work for some of the largest oncology organisations in the country.

Why it matters: Selling through the records system a practice already uses removes the hardest part of revenue cycle software, which is the integration. For a community oncology practice this is the difference between a project and a setting. The announcement names no practice that has switched, so the useful question is how many of those 220 actually turn it on and what their denial rate does afterwards. Oncology billing also leans on drug costs and prior authorisation, so general claim automation results do not transfer to it unchanged.

DeepScribe becomes the first ambient AI partner inside the Flatiron Health OncoEMR records system

DeepScribe said on 22 January 2025 that it had partnered with Flatiron Health to put its documentation AI in front of clinicians using OncoEMR, the Flatiron Health cloud records platform for cancer care. The announcement says the partnership makes DeepScribe the first ambient AI solution partner for Flatiron Health, and that it reaches more than 4,200 providers across more than 800 community based cancer care locations in the Flatiron Health network. It says each note the AI writes lands in the patient chart inside OncoEMR for a clinician to review and sign, and that the software pulls in context from earlier visits and organises the plan with relevant ICD-10 diagnosis codes. It reports that 91 percent of oncologists called DeepScribe easy to use and that adoption passed 80 percent inside large oncology groups, and says nearly 1,000 oncologists were using the platform daily. Matthew Ko, the DeepScribe chief executive and co-founder, Nina Chavez, the Flatiron Health vice president of strategic partnerships and alliances, and Dean Dalili, the DeepScribe chief medical officer, are all quoted.

Why it matters: This is a distribution deal more than a product one, and that is why it matters. A records system partnership puts the tool where the work already happens and removes the integration argument that kills most small practice software purchases. Being named the first ambient AI partner also suggests exclusivity in that slot at the time, which is worth more to DeepScribe than any single customer. Read the numbers for what they measure. More than 4,200 providers is the size of the network it can now reach, not the number using it. Easy to use and adoption rates describe how clinicians feel and whether they switched on, and neither says whether the notes were accurate. The ICD-10 code organising is the line a practice should press hardest on, because a code suggested in a note eventually becomes a claim.

Careers and Qualifications

What to Know Before Applying

Work areas: The careers page is written as an employer pitch rather than a role list, saying Flatiron Health looks for changemakers in cancer care and works in multidisciplinary teams. It names a life sciences office in Durham. To see actual disciplines and locations you have to open its open positions list.

Qualification signal: Two very different jobs live under this one name. Building a records system clinicians use all day is product and reliability work. Turning those records into research data is curation, which is slow, careful and far less glamorous. Ask which side a role sits on, because the skills do not transfer, and the research side is where the oncology knowledge actually has to be real.

Check current roles at Flatiron Health. A careers page is the source of record for openings. This profile does not claim a role is open unless the company lists it now.

No clearance is linked in this directory. That is not automatically a mark against the company. Some products support the people doing the work instead of reading a patient image or signal themselves.
