What the Job Actually Is
A clearance says the software worked somewhere. This role asks whether it works here.
That means pulling a local sample, running the tool against what actually happened to those patients, and reporting the gap between the published number and yours. Sometimes there is no gap. Often there is, because your scanners are older, or your patient mix is different, or the original study excluded the cases that make up half your list.
It is the least glamorous role on this page and the one most likely to save a hospital from an expensive mistake.
What You Need to Be Good At
- Designing a local evaluation that will survive scrutiny
- Knowing the difference between accuracy on a test set and performance in a workflow
- Monitoring after go-live, because a model can drift quietly
- Writing up a negative result without softening it
